Another test on the Advanced Delay Finder option Smaart V8.5beta   1 comment

In this post I wanted to check if the Advanced Delay Finder within Smaart V8.5beta would find the correct time at whatever frequency I choose compared to the “normal” way of aligning a system (via phase alignment).

The 2nd thing i wanted to check: does driver polarity matter for the Advanced Delay finder (it doesn’t šŸ˜‰ ).

For this test i’m using only 1 mic set onax near just to see if there’s a difference between Phase alignment vs Time alignment on the same basic “start file”.

The high-driver has a FIR file on it. I reversed polarity on the low driver on purpose just to see if the correct time was found for the 2nd part of the screen capture.

Turns out the advanced delay finder is really accurate. There was a difference between the 2 way’s of working which was a 0.02ms which comes down to 1 sample if the sample rate is set at 48kHz.

Enjoy and stay safe.
